Step 5: Household Services

In Step 5 of the case project workflow you define the household services performed by the plaintiff. Before you enter household services data it is important to understand how services are defined and applied by the application. Please review the concepts explained below before you proceed.

Events

You enter household services information as point-in-time events. An event is an occurrence in the plaintiff's life that changes the services he performs. The most significant household services event is usually the injury that led to the legal case. Other examples of events include starting a new job, beginning care for a new dependent, and the plaintiff's retirement.

Duration of Services Defined for an Event

What point-in-time means is that the services defined for an event remain in effect until new services are specified at a later event. If you define services at the Injury Date and do not define services at any subsequent events, then the services you defined at the Injury Date will remain in effect for the entire damages period.
