In Step 5 of the case project workflow you define the household services performed by the plaintiff. Before you enter household services data it is important to understand how services are defined and applied by the application. Please review the concepts explained below before you proceed.
You enter household services information as point-in-time events. An event is an occurrence that changes the services an individual performs. The most significant household services event is usually the injury that led to the legal case. Other examples include starting a new job, beginning care for a new dependent, and retirement. Events such as marriage or divorce, or moving to a new home, can also change the services that an individual performs.
What point-in-time means is that the services defined for an event remain in effect until new services are specified at a later event. If you define services at the Injury Date and do not define services at any subsequent events, then the services you defined at the Injury Date will remain in effect for the entire damages period.
