Changing Assumption Values

You select the settings for assumptions from the Change Value column in the assumptions grid. There are a number of different controls for setting assumption values. Each type of control is explained below.

Checkboxes

Checkboxes set Boolean (True/False) assumptions. When a checkbox is filled, the assumption's value is True; when the checkbox is empty, the value is False. You fill or empty a checkbox by clicking on the assumption's cell in the Change Value column.

Option Buttons

Option buttons select a value from a list of settings. You select a setting by clicking on it.

Drop Down Lists

Drop down lists select a value from a list of settings. To use a drop down list, click on the assumption's cell in the Change Value column. The drop down list will open. Click on the setting that you want to select. The list will close and the selected setting will appear in the Change Value cell.

Date Controls

As the name implies, you use a date control to select a date. There are three ways to use a Date Control:

wType the date directly into the text portion that appears within the Change Value cell ("06/30/2008" in the example diagrams).

wClick on the month, day, or year, then use the up and down buttons that appear at the end of the control to change the value.

wClick on the drop down button and use the calendar to select a date.
