You use the DCF Projection Dialog Box to project both balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Select a projection method from the list box on the left side of the dialog box. The dialog box will reconfigure for the method that you selected. Some methods will display reference data (see below). All methods except for the Regression method require you to enter projection data (see below).
The dialog box will display the appropriate reference data in the following circumstances:
If the projection method that you selected (see above) is based on the business's past performance, such as the Regression method.
If past data is available for the selected account, and is helpful in determining what projection data to enter (see below).
The Reference Data assumption on the Detailed DCF Assumptions sheet determines if the reference data comes from the historic or adjusted financial statements.
Unless you select the Regression method or the Detail Worksheet method (see below), the dialog box will display a table for entering the projection data. If you want to repeat one of the amounts or percentages that you are entering, select the cell that contains the value you want to repeat, then click on the Copy Down button.
