Commands (Links)

A command is specially-formatted text within a report or template. Commands link reports to workbooks and specify optional content in templates.

Command Structure

A command begins and ends with matching angle brackets called "chevrons". The hidden text within the chevrons (formatted with a dotted underline in the example below) contains the field values that specify what the command should display. The first text field (before the first "|" character) specifies the command type (the example below shows a Cell command). The last field (after the last "|" character) contains the value returned by the command when it was last updated (the example below returns a value of 2,395,800). The remaining text fields specify the parameters needed to execute the command.
