Optional Content

Please Note: You can only specify optional content in report templates. You cannot insert an Optional Content command into a report.

Optional Content commands let you automatically generate report content based on the data in a workbook file. You define the optional content and the condition that determines if the content is included or excluded in a report template. This allows you to generate reports that conditionally include content, which can greatly accelerate the production of reports.

When you create a report using a template that contains an Optional Content command, the software evaluates the cell in the workbook that is referenced by the command. If the cell evaluates to true, the content specified by the command is included in the new report.
