Copying Page Setup Settings

Please Note: Depending on the settings that you select to copy and the number of sheets you copy to, processing for this task could take as long as several minutes.

To copy Page Setup settings from a worksheet or chart to one or more other sheets:

Open the Copy Page Setup Settings Dialog Box

Select Analysis | Page Setup | Multiple Sheets. The Copy Page Setup Settings Dialog Box will appear.

About the Workflow

The dialog box is designed to make the steps for copying Page Setup settings clear and simple. Each steps in the process has a header that indicates what you need to do. The first three steps are arranged in three columns. Start at the left and work your way to the right. The last step appears at the bottom of the dialog box.

Select the Sheet to Copy From

In the first column of the dialog box, use the folder tree to select the worksheet or chart that you want to copy settings from. Use the Expand and Collapse buttons to open and close all of the folders at once.

Settings for the Selected Sheet

Click on the Setup button to view or modify the settings for the selected sheet. Excel's Page Setup Dialog Box will open.

Select the Settings to Copy

In the center column of the dialog box, fill the checkbox for each group of settings that you want to copy. If the source sheet is a worksheet, the Chart Settings checkbox will be disabled. If the source sheet is a chart, the Worksheet Settings checkbox will be disabled.

Select the Sheets to Modify

In the third column of the dialog box, use the checkbox folder tree to select the sheets that you want to copy the settings to. Use the three option buttons at the top of the column to automatically select all worksheets and charts, all worksheets, or all charts. To remove all of your selections, click on the Uncheck All button.

Copy the Settings

When you've have selected the sheet that you want to copy settings from, the groups of settings that you want to copy, and the sheets that you want to copy those settings to, click on the Copy Settings button in the bottom left corner of the dialog box.
