Ownership

Please Note: The configuration of the Owners Information Worksheet is determined by the Entity Type assumption on the Project Assumptions Sheet.

You use the Owners Information Worksheet to define who owns how much of the subject business. You select the worksheet from the Setup folder.

Corporation

For a corporation, you enter the common shares owned by each shareholder. Enter each owner's name in the first column and the common shares held be each owner in the second column. An Owners Information Chart is automatically generated from the data entered in the worksheet.

Partnership

For a partnership, you enter the percentage held by each owner. If the Display Limited Partnership assumption on the Setup Assumptions Sheet is set to True, you enter data for both the general partnership and the limited partnership. Enter each owner's name in the first column and any data in the remaining columns. Enter percentages as percents. For example, you would enter 12.5% as "12.5". An Owners Information Chart is automatically generated from the data entered in the worksheet.

Sole Proprietorship

For a sole proprietorship, the Owners Information Worksheet and its accompanying chart are hidden. This is because the subject business only has a single owner, so no data on multiple owners is available or necessary.
