You use Explore mode to select sheets in the current Analysis file. To select Explore mode, click on its tab at the bottom of the Navigator.
The Navigator groups sheets into folders. A folder can also contain subfolders. For example, the worksheets and charts for the financial statements are in the Financial Statements folder and subfolders. You select a sheet by "drilling down" to it. You open the top-level folder that contains the sheet, then any subfolders, until you reach the sheet itself.
Tip: There's a shortcut for reaching sheets that are far down in the folder hierarchy: use the folder sheets.
The Analysis Options contain settings for changing the Explore mode's look and feel. You can also access these settings from the Configure Bar, which appears at the bottom of the Analysis Navigator, just above the mode tabs. If you don't see the Configure Bar, you can turn it on from the Analysis Options. To open or close the Configure Bar, click on its header.
Experiment with the View and Collapse options (see below) to determine what works best for you. When you have determined your preferred settings, you can turn off display of the Configure Bar from the Analysis Options.
The View option determines what the top-level folders look like: bars (Explorer View) or folders (Tree View).
The Collapse option determines what happens when you click on a folder at the same level or above the current folder. When the option is set to Automatic, the folder you are leaving automatically closes.
