Transactions and Indicated Value

The Transactions and Indicated Value worksheet calculates a value for the business from transactions in the subject company's stock. The assumptions settings determine how the worksheet is configured.

Number of Transactions

The Number of Transactions assumption determines the number of input columns for entering transaction data.

Desktop Toolbar Links

You can use buttons in the Desktop Toolbar to jump to the following sheets:

bLevel of Control (Premium or Discount)

Entering the Transactions

Enter a share price and the total shares outstanding for each transaction. An input row for entering transaction dates is provided for informational purposes.

Weighted Average

Enter a weight for each of the transactions. The worksheet will update the weighted average calculated in the cell labeled "Weighted Average".

Adjusting the Calculated Value

To adjust the calculated value:

Step01Click on the Adjust button on the Desktop Toolbar. An adjustment row will appear on the worksheet.

Step02Enter a label for the adjustment row in the white input cell in the labels column.

Step03Enter an adjustment to the calculated value.

To hide the adjustment and remove it from the calculations, click on the Adjust button again.

Selected Value

The rounded value in the cell labeled "SELECTED EQUITY VALUE" or "SELECTED ENTERPRISE VALUE" is used in the Conclusion of Value worksheet. You can edit this value by overwriting its blue text cell.
